3rd Floor Gallery installation at the Yale School of Architecture of the New Haven Industrial Heritage Trails, a collaboration with the International Festival of Arts & Ideas. Fourteen students in Arch 4233, Ghsot Town: Abandonment, Preservation, and the Postindustrial Landscape, created critical heritage proposals for fourteen postindustrial sites in New Haven. Created in 2014 by students in “Infrastructure: Politics and Design,” an undergarduate seminar at Yale University listed in Architecture and Political Science and taught by Elihu Rubin.
The New Haven Coke Company was once a looming presence on the New Haven Harbor before it was demolished in 1968. In this 11-minute, avant garde film, Turner Brooks captured the atmospheres of this belching urban behemoth. “Sometimes reality is a very strange place.”
