Storytelling and Community Well-Being
Excited to be collaborating with Thomas Allen Harris, Donald Perry, Laura Wexler, Marta Figlerowicz, and Charlie Musser on a colloquium sponsored by the Whitney Humanities Center called “Storytelling and Community Well-being: Healing our Communities Through Communal Narrative Change.”
We each come with our own interests and perspectives; Thomas and Don have created Family Pictures USA, which invites communities to tell their own stories through their family photographs. My own interest is around storytelling and urban planning; how do we advance productive and democratic urban planning processes around storytelling practices?
Our plan is to organize a colloquim in May, 2025, that will include discussions of theories and methods; case studies; and workshops. Stay tuned!
